Hyperbaric oxygen treatment (HBO) in combination with thrombolysis has been demonstrated to salvage myocardium in acute myocardial infarction in the animal model. Therefore a randomized pilot trial was undertaken to assess the safety and feasibility of this treatment in human beings.
