Upper airway obstruction of patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) occurring during sleep can appear at multiple sites. Successful results of hyoid myotomy with suspension (HM) in the treatment of hypopharyngeal obstruction performed under general anesthesia have been reported.
