Fraxinus rhynchophylla showed significant inhibitory activity on adipocyte differentiation in the 3T3-L1 preadipocyte cell line as assessed by measuring fat accumulation using Oil Red O staining. Further fractionation led to the isolation of two secoiridoids, oleuropein and hydroxyframoside B. Hydroxyframoside B significantly reduced fat accumulation and triglyceride content in differentiated 3T3-L1 cells without affecting cell viability, whereas oleuropein showed little effect. Further studies… Expand
Inhibitory Effects of Stilbene Derivatives from Parthenocissus Tricuspidata on Adipocyte Differentiation and Pancreatic Lipase
Investigation of anti-obesity compounds from Parthenocissus tricuspidata stems resulted in the isolation of nineteen compounds including five acetophenones, five flavonoids and nine stilbene derivatives, which showed the most potent anti-Obesity effects. Expand
Sulforaphane Inhibits Mitotic Clonal Expansion During Adipogenesis Through Cell Cycle Arrest
The results indicate that sulforaphane may specifically affect mitotic clonal expansion to inhibit adipocyte differentiation and may be associated with cell cycle arrest at the G0/G1 phase through upregulation of p27 expression. Expand
Secoiridoids from the stem barks of Fraxinus rhynchophylla with pancreatic lipase inhibitory activity
Together, F. rhynchophylla and its constituents might be beneficial to obesity and exerted inhibitory effect on pancreatic lipase in a mixed mechanism of competitive and noncompetitive manner. Expand
Inhibitory Effects of Marine Algae Extract on Adipocyte Differentiation and Pancreatic Lipase Activity
Algae extracts employing preadipocytes cell line, 3T3-L1 as an in vitro assay system and total methanolic extracts of Cladophora wrightiana and Costaria costata showed significant inhibitory activity on adipocyte differentiation showed significant inhibition of pancreatic lipase activity and algae might be new candidates in the development of obesity treatment. Effect of Cordyceps militaris extract and active constituents on metabolic parameters of obesity induced by high-fat diet in C58BL/6J mice.
Treatment of CE inhibited HFD-induced metabolic disorders, mainly by improvement in metabolic parameters, and suggested that Cordyceps militaris might be beneficial for the treatment of metabolic disorders obesity through the combined actions of diverse constituents. Expand
Hepatoprotective standardized EtOH–water extract from the seeds of Fraxinus rhynchophylla Hance
The results suggested that the pretreatment with EWE protected mice against CCl4-induced liver injuries, and the EtOH–water extract from the seeds of F. rhynchophylla Hance is efficacious for prevention and treatment of CCl 4-induced hepatic injury in mice. Expand
Action of an extract from the seeds of Fraxinus excelsior L. on metabolic disorders in hypertensive and obese animal models.
The broad-ranging effects of FXE may be due to a unique compositional profile that could be useful to prevent the metabolic syndrome, characterized by obesity, insulin resistance, glucose intolerance, hypertriglyceridemia and elevated blood pressure. Expand
Anti-obesity Effect of (8-E)-Nüzhenide, a Secoiridoid from Ligustrum lucidum, in High-fat Diet-induced Obese Mice
Results show that treatment with LFE and LFS decreased HFD-induced obesity, mainly by improving metabolic parameters, such as fats and triglycerides, which have potential benefits in regulation of obesity. Expand
Lignan Derivatives from Fraxinus rhynchophylla and Inhibitory Activity on Pancreatic Lipase
Pancreatic lipase digests dietary fats by hydrolysis, which is a key enzyme for lipid absorption. Therefore, reduction of fat absorption by the inhibition of pancreatic lipase is suggested to be aExpand
