Synthetic hydroxyapatite particles of two median sizes and different morphologies have been used to manufacture hydroxyapatite reinforced high density polyethylene composites (HAPEX) for medical applications. The effects of hydroxyapatite particle size on properties of the resultant composites were investigated using various techniques.
