The intention of this chapter is to present a short description of the reservoir rocks, recognized types of the hydrocarbons traps, and a few chosen oil and gas fields in the basement and in the Miocene cover of the Carpathian Foredeep. Most of the oil produced from the Carpathian Foredeep basin has come from Oxfordian carbonates and Cenomanian sandstones, two of the most oil-productive reservoir rocks.
