From 2006 high-education of Hungary has been changed to the European standard three-level system agreed in Bologna. The new curricula for the three level system including the Bachelor (BSc), the Master (MSc), and the Doctoral (PhD) courses have been introduced (Bartholy et al. 2009). In the frame of this development new courses devoted to the cryosphere have been included in the MSc curriculum. Moreover, climatology courses have been revised to provide more detailed insight into the elements of…

Update of the History of the International Association of Geodesy
The first part of the Handbook 2008 gives a review of the latest historical developments and the current status of IAG. Tribute to past leading IAG officers is traditionally given by a resigning
Modelling Tropospheric Zenith Delays Using Regression Models Based on Surface Meteorology Data
The tropospheric zenith delay (ZTD) of GPS observations is closely related to the integrated water vapour (IWV) content of the atmosphere. The scale factor between the IWV and the ZWD is a function
Variations of the geomagnetic dipole magnitude over the past 400 My
The international bank of the virtual dipole moment data supplemented by the values from more recent publications is used as the basis for an analysis of the behavior of the virtual dipole moment
Length of the day and evolution of the Earth's core in the geological past
In this paper, we study quantitatively the effect of the Earth's core formation on the secular rate of change of the length of day (LOD). We find that for the present epoch, a growth rate of the core
Algebraic Geodesy and Geoinformatics
While preparing and teaching Introduction to Geodesy I and II to undergraduate students at Stuttgart University, we noticed a gap which motivated the writing of the present book: Almost every topic
Estimation of Integrated Water Vapour from GPS Observations Using Local Models in Hungary
This paper studies the estimation of integrated water vapour (IWV) from the zenith tropospheric delay (ZTD). In order to evaluate the technique, six mathematical models are compared using a stormy
Earthquake energy distribution along the earth surface and radius
Abstract The global earthquake catalog of seismic events with M W ≥ 7.0, for the time interval from 1950 to 2007, shows that the depth distribution of earthquake energy release is not uniform. The
