Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected persons manifest decreased antibody responses to pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccines. Since human antibody responses to polysaccharides are often restricted, the molecular structure of antibodies elicited by a 23-valent pneumococcal vaccine was analyzed.
