This paper considers various interface decisions which need to be made for successful multimedia and internet design. Four main areas of recent research work are investigated. These four areas of software design are Age/ Gender, Design, Content and Quality/ Depth. These issues will be analysed in terms of r ecent empirical research with groups of users employing different multimedia packages.
