We perform an exploratory study of the allowed parameter range for the CKM-like mixing of hypothetical quarks of a fourth generation. As experimental constraints we use the tree-level determinations of the 3x3 Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) elements and flavor-changing neutral current (FCNC) processes (K, D, B{sub d}, B{sub s} mixing and the decay b{yields}s{gamma}) under the assumption that the 4x4 CKM matrix is unitary. For the FCNCs we use some simplifying assumptions concerning the QCD… Expand
Less space for a new family of fermions
We investigate the experimentally allowed parameter space of an extension of the standard model (SM3) by one additional family of fermions. Therefore we extend our previous study of theExpand
Patterns of flavour violation in the presence of a fourth generation of quarks and leptons
We calculate a number of observables related to particle-antiparticle mixing and the branching ratios for the most interesting rare and CP-violating K and B decays in the Standard Model (SM3)Expand
Testing the CKM Picture of Flavour and CP Violation in Rare K and B Decays and Particle-Antiparticle Mixing
We summarize briefly the CKM picture of flavour and CP violation that governs the models with minimal flavour violation (MFV). We then describe how this framework can be efficiently tested throughExpand
How large can the SM contribution to CP violation in $$ {D_0} - {\overline D_0} $$ mixing be?
We reconsider the leading HQE contributions to the absorptive part of the mixing amplitude of neutral D mesons by taking also αs corrections and subleading 1/mc corrections into account. We show thatExpand
An A5 model of four lepton generations
We study the lepton sector of a four generations model based on the discrete flavor group A5. The best features of the three family A4 model survive, including the tribimaximal pattern of threeExpand
Updated Bs -mixing constraints on new physics models for b→sℓ+ℓ− anomalies.
Many new physics models that explain the intriguing anomalies in the b-quark flavor sector are severely constrained by Bs mixing, for which the Standard Model prediction and experiment agreed wellExpand
Collider signals of a composite Higgs in the Standard Model with four generations
Abstract Recent fits of electroweak precision data to the Standard Model (SM) with a 4th sequential family (SM4) point to a possible “three-prong composite solution”: (1) the Higgs mass is at theExpand
Extended Friedberg Lee hidden symmetries, quark masses and CP-violation with four generations
Motivated in part by the several observed anomalies involving CP asymmetries of B and B{sub s} decays, we consider the standard model with a 4th sequential family (SM4) which seems to offer a ratherExpand
Higgs Properties in the Fourth Generation MSSM: Boosted Signals Over the 3G Plan
The generalization of the MSSM to the case of four chiral fermion generations (4GMSSM) can lead to significant changes in the phenomenology of the otherwise familiar Higgs sector. In most of theExpand
A Fourth Chiral Generation And Susy Breaking
We revisit four generations within the context of supersymmetry. We compute the perturbativity limits for the fourth generation Yukawa couplings and show that if the masses of the fourth generationExpand

Four generations and Higgs physics
In the light of the LHC, we revisit the implications of a fourth generation of chiral matter. We identify a specific ensemble of particle masses and mixings that are in agreement with all currentExpand
Experimental constraints on fourth generation quark masses
The existing bounds from CDF on the masses of the fourth generation quarks, t{sup '} and b{sup '}, are reexamined. The bound of 256 GeV on the t{sup '} mass assumes that the primary decay of theExpand
Flavor changing neutral currents involving heavy quarks with four generations
We study various flavor changing neutral currents (FCNC) involving heavy quarks in the Standard Model (SM) with a sequential fourth generation. After imposing B ! Xs°, B ! Xsl + l i and Z ! bbExpand
Observation of single top-quark production.
We report observation of the electroweak production of single top quarks in pp[over ] collisions at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV based on 2.3 fb(-1) of data collected by the D0 detector at the Fermilab TevatronExpand
Phenomenological Constraints on Extended Quark Sectors
We study the flavor physics in two extensions of the quark sector of the Standard Model (SM): a four generation model and a model with a single vector--like down--type quark (VDQ). In our analysis weExpand
Next-to-leading order QCD corrections to the lifetime difference of Bs mesons
Abstract We compute the QCD corrections to the decay rate difference in the B s – B s system, Δ Γ B s , in the next-to-leading logarithmic approximation using the heavy quark expansion approach.Expand
Observation of electroweak single top-quark production.
We report the observation of single top-quark production using 3.2 fb(-1) of pp[over ] collision data with sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV collected by the Collider Detector at Fermilab. The significance of theExpand
NONSUPERSYMMETRIC SU(5) RESUSCITATED BY NEW QUARKS AND LEPTONS
The issue of gauge unification in the (nonsupersymmetric) standard model is reinvestigated. It is found that, with just an additional fourth generation of quarks and leptons, SU(3){circle_times}SU(2)Expand
Mass of the higgs versus fourth generation masses
The predicted value of the higgs mass mH is analyzed assuming the existence of the fourth generation of leptons (N, E) and quarks (U, D). The steep and flat directions are found in theExpand
The fourth family: A simple explanation for the observed pattern of anomalies
We show that a fourth family of quarks with mt′mt′ in the range of (400–600) GeV provides a rather simple explanation for the several indications of new physics that have been observed involving CPExpand
