Just over a year ago, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) proposed its Global Green New Deal. The plan was to stimulate economic recovery and create jobs, enhance the livelihoods of the world’s poor and lessen carbon dependency and environmental degradation. The world’s initial response to that call was positive.
