We include the single graviton loop contribution to the linearized Einstein equation. Explicit results are obtained for one loop corrections to the propagation of gravitational radiation. Although suppressed by a minuscule loop-counting parameter, these corrections are enhanced by the square of the number of inflationary e-foldings. One consequence is that perturbation theory breaks down for a very long epoch of primordial inflation. Another consequence is that the one loop correction to the…

100 years of mathematical cosmology: Models, theories and problems, Part B

We continue our overview of mathematical cosmology with a survey of the third and fourth periods of the development of the subject. The first Part includes the first two periods and is published

How Inflationary Gravitons Affect the Force of Gravity

We employ an unregulated computation of the graviton self-energy from gravitons on the de Sitter background to infer the renormalized result. This is used to quantum-correct the linearized Einstein

Quantum gravitational effects on massive fermions during inflation

We compute the one loop graviton contribution to the self-energy of a very light fermion on a locally de Sitter background. This result can be used to study the effect that a small mass has on the

The Quantum Gravitational Back-Reaction on Inflation

Abstract We describe our recent calculation of two-loop corrections to the expansion rate of an initially inflating universe on the manifoldT3× R . If correct, our result proves that quantum

Graviton corrections to vacuum polarization during inflation

We use dimensional regularization to compute the one loop quantum gravitational contribution to the vacuum polarization on de Sitter background. Adding the appropriate

Hartree approximation to the one loop quantum gravitational correction to the graviton mode function on de Sitter

We use the Hartree approximation to the Einstein equation on de Sitter background to solve for the one loop correction to the graviton mode function. This should give a reasonable approximation to

Deducing Cosmological Observables from the S-matrix

We study one loop quantum gravitational corrections to the long range force induced by the exchange of a massless scalar between two massive scalars. The various diagrams contributing to the flat

The fermion self-energy during inflation

We compute the one-loop fermion self-energy for massless Dirac + Einstein in the presence of a locally de Sitter background. We employ dimensional regularization and obtain a fully renormalized

Quantum Gravity Corrections to the One Loop Scalar Self-Mass during Inflation

We compute the one loop corrections from quantum gravity to the self-mass-squared of a massless, minimally coupled scalar on a locally de Sitter background. The calculation was done using dimensional

Single graviton loop contribution to the self-mass of a massless, conformally coupled scalar on a de Sitter background

We use a simplified formalism to re-compute the single graviton loop contribution to the self-mass of a massless, conformally coupled scalar on de Sitter background which was originally made by
