For more than a century, it has been suggested that failure of the secretions of the ductless glands leads to aging. Replacement of these hormones has been suggested as a method of slowing the aging process. Clearly, modern research has demonstrated that the concept of a "hormonal fountain of youth" is predominantly mythology.
