A label-free, homogenous and sensitive one-step method for the molecular authentication of medicinal snakes has been developed by combining a rapid PCR technique with water-soluble cationic conjugated polyelectrolytes (CCPs). Three medicinal snake materials (Deinagkistrodon acutus, Zaocys dhumnades and Bungarus multicinctus; a total of 35 specimens) and 48 snake specimens with similar morphologies and textures were clearly distinguished by the naked eye by utilizing a CCP-based assay in a high…

Using a recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA) assay with rapid DNA extraction for on–spot identification of Deinagkistrodon acutus, a snake species threatened due to over–exploitation and habitat destruction, this method could become an efficient tool for rigorous supervision of illegal D. acUTus capture and trade.
Multiplex Ligation-Dependent Probe Amplification for Simultaneous Identification of Bungarus multicinctus and Its Common Adulterants in a Single Assay
The results of the present study confirmed the effectiveness of this technique in terms of simultaneous identification of B. multicinctus and its common adulterants in an assay, which has great potential for ensuring the safety of this commercially valuable snake species.
Weigh Biomaterials by Quantifying Species-specific DNA with Real-time PCR
There exists a linear relation between DNA contents and the weight of biomaterials indeed when the analytical practices are fully controlled and the mass of targeted biomaterialS in the highly processed commercial products can also be calculated by quantifying the species-specific DNA through classic real-time PCR with a good reproducibility.
Snakebite Envenoming Diagnosis and Diagnostics
This review aims to highlight regional differences in epidemiology and clinical snakebite management on a global scale, including an overview of the past and ongoing research efforts within snakebite diagnostics.

[Application of rapid PCR to authenticate medicinal snakes].
An accurate, rapid and efficient method for authenticate medicinal snakes listed in Chinese Pharmacopoeia was established based on the classic molecular authentication methods and provides the technical support for authentication of the snakes on field.
Authentication of snakes used in Chinese medicine by sequence characterized amplified region (SCAR)
A multiplex SCAR analysis was established to Authenticate the snakes used in Chinese medicine reliably and efficiently and design polymerasechain reaction primers for sequence characterized amplified region (SCAR)analysis of the three snakes.

[High specific PCR identification of Bungarus multicinctus and its adulterants].
The primers designed in the present study were highly specific for B. multicinctus, which could be clearly distinguished from others by PCR reaction with the highly specific primers.
Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP)-based method for rapid mushroom species identification.
The LAMP assay combined with LFD detection allows the identification of A. phalloides in about 2 h (including DNA extraction) at a very low level of technical equipment (micropestle, water bath, and mobile centrifuge), which makes this technique perfectly suited for on-site applications.
Application of loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP)-based technology for authentication of Catharanthus roseus (L.) G. Don
In this study, loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP)-based molecular marker was developed for authentication of Catharanthus roseus, a medicinal plant. Samples of this plant were collected
High Specific PCR Identification of Zaocys dhumnades and Its Adulterants
Zaocys dhumnades was clearly distinguished from other by PCR reaction with the highly specific primers designed in the present study, which is simple, fast and reproducable.
Molecular authentication of multi-species honeysuckle tablets.
Molecular authentication of multi-species original honeysuckle in 3 brands of commercial tablets using allele-specific PCR was developed and Sequence and phylogenetic analyses show that the tablets YXC and YQJ contained Lonicera japonica and L. macranthoides as original raw materials.
Application of COI barcode sequence for the identification of snake medicine (Zaocys)
Using the Cytochrome Oxidase I fragments of 51 samples from 17 species of snakes, the Neighbor-Joining tree of the snakes was constructed and the results show that snakes of the same species cluster with 100% bootstrap values, indicating that Zaocys can be separated from its counterfeits.
