A bstractWe develop techniques, based on differential geometry, to compute holomorphic Yukawa couplings for heterotic line bundle models on Calabi-Yau manifolds defined as complete intersections in projective spaces. It is shown explicitly how these techniques relate to algebraic methods for computing holomorphic Yukawa couplings. We apply our methods to various examples and evaluate the holomorphic Yukawa couplings explicitly as functions of the complex structure moduli. It is shown that the…

A bstractWe develop methods to compute holomorphic Yukawa couplings for heterotic compactifications on complete intersection Calabi-Yau manifolds, generalising results of an earlier paper for

Abstract We study two aspects of the physics of heterotic Line Bundle Standard Models on smooth Calabi-Yau threefolds. First, we investigate to what degree modern moduli stabilization scenarios
Generalized vanishing theorems for Yukawa couplings in heterotic compactifications
• Mathematics
• 2021
Heterotic compactifications on Calabi-Yau threefolds frequently exhibit textures of vanishing Yukawa couplings in their low energy description. The vanishing of these couplings is often not enforced
Matter field Kähler metric in heterotic string theory from localisation
• Mathematics
• 2018
A bstractWe propose an analytic method to calculate the matter field Kähler metric in heterotic compactifications on smooth Calabi-Yau three-folds with Abelian internal gauge fields. The matter field

A bstractWe study the non-perturbative superpotential in E8 × E8 heterotic string theory on a non-simply connected Calabi-Yau manifold X, as well as on its simply connected covering space X˜
Coupling patterns in heterotic calabi-Yau models
We describe the structure of relationships between, and vanishings of, couplings that can occur at high energies in smooth compactifications of the heterotic string. We begin with an explanation of
Gauged supergravities from M-theory reductions
• Mathematics

A bstractIn supergravity compactifications, there is in general no clear prescription on how to select a finite-dimensional family of metrics on the internal space, and a family of forms on which to
Vanishing Yukawa Couplings and the Geometry of String Theory Models
• Physics
• 2022
We provide an overview of recent work which aims to understand patterns of vanishing Yukawa couplings that arise in models of particle physics derived from string theory. These patterns are seemingly
