We study (3+1)-dimensional holographic superconductors in Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity both numerically and analytically. It is found that higher curvature corrections make condensation harder. We give an analytic proof of this result, and directly demonstrate an analytic approximation method that explains the qualitative features of superconductors as well as giving quantitatively good numerical results. We also calculate conductivity and ωg/Tc, for ωg and Tc the gap in the frequency…

Holographic superconductors in quasi-topological gravity

In this paper we study (3+1) dimensional holographic superconductors in quasi-topological gravity which is recently proposed by R. Myers et.al.. Through both analytical and numerical analysis, we

Analytical studies on holographic superconductors in Gauss-Bonnet gravity

We use the variational method for the Sturm-Liouville eigenvalue problem to analytically calculate some properties of holographic superconductors with Gauss-Bonnet gravity in probe limit. By studying

Holographic helical superconductor with higher curvature corrections

We study SU(2) × U(1) gauge theory with Chern–Simons term, coupled to scalar field in adjoint, in Einstein–Gauss–Bonnet gravity. We explore phases of holographic superconductor in terms of the

Analytic Study of Properties of Holographic Superconductors with Weyl Corrections

We analytically investigate the properties of holographic superconductors with Weyl corrections in AdS5-Schwarzschild background by two approaches, one based on the Sturm-Liouville eigenvalue problem

Analytic calculation of properties of holographic superconductors

We calculate analytically properties of holographic superconductors in the probe limit. We analyze the range 1/2 < Δ < 3, where Δ is the dimension of the operator that condenses. We obtain the

Holographic Superconductors

: It has been shown that a gravitational dual to a superconductor can be obtained by coupling anti-de Sitter gravity to a Maxwell field and charged scalar. We review our earlier analysis of this

Exploring colourful holographic superconductors

We explore a class of holographic superconductors built using non-abelian condensates on probe branes in conformal and non-conformal backgrounds. These are shown to exhibit behaviour of the specific

Characteristic length of an AdS/CFT superconductor

We investigate in more detail the holographic model of a superconductor recently found by Hartnoll, Herzog, and Horowitz [Phys. Rev. Lett. 101, 031601 (2008)], which is constructed from a condensate

Holographic superconductors with various condensates

We extend earlier treatments of holographic superconductors by studying cases where operators of different dimension condense in both 2+1 and 3+1 superconductors. We also compute a correlation

Density driven symmetry breaking in holographic superconductors

We study the density driven symmetry breaking in holographic superconductors by considering the positive mass squared case. We show that even for the positive m{sup 2}, a scalar condensation still

A holographic superconductor in an external magnetic field

We study a system of a complex charged scalar coupled to a Reissner-Nordstr?m black hole in 3+1 dimensional anti-de Sitter spacetime, neglecting back-reaction. With suitable boundary conditions, the

Supercurrent: Vector hair for an AdS black hole

Hartnoll, Herzog, and Horowitz [Phys. Rev. Lett. 101, 031601 (2008).] discuss a holographic black hole solution which exhibits a superconductorlike transition. In the superconducting phase the black

We consider corrections to the ratio of the shear viscosity to the entropy density in strongly coupled non-Abelian plasmas using the AdS/CFT correspondence. In particular, higher-derivative terms

Pseudogap and time reversal breaking in a holographic superconductor

Classical SU(2) Yang-Mills theory in 3+1 dimensional anti-de Sitter space is known to provide a holographic dual to a 2+1 system that undergoes a superconducting phase transition. We study the
