In this paper we study D-brane scalar fluctuations in global Pilch-Warner background geometry. We consider configurations of the probe branes compatible with the kappa symmetry preserving condition and the brane classical equations of motion. The corresponding meson spectra, obtained by the fluctuations along the transverse brane direc- tions, admit equidistant structure for the higher modes, but some of them show additional shifts in their ground states.

Flavours in global Klebanov-Witten background

A bstractWe probe flavour branes in the Klebanov-Witten background in global coordinates. We show that supersymmetric probes correspond to massless flavours and analyse their spectrum of

K-symmetry, supersymmetry and intersecting branes

We present a new form of K-Symmehy transformations for D-branes in which the dependence on the Born-Infeld field strength is expressed as a relative rotation on the leftand right-moving fields with

Semiclassical quantization of Rotating Strings in Pilch-Warner geometry

Some of the recent important developments in understanding string/ gauge dualities are based on the idea of highly symmetric motion of ``string solitons'' in $AdS_5\times S^5$ geometry originally

Dirichlet Branes and Ramond-Ramond charges.

We show that D-branes, extended objects defined by mixed Dirichlet-Neumann boundary conditions, break half the supersymmetries of the type II superstring and carry a complete set of electric and

Meson Spectroscopy in AdS/CFT with Flavour

We compute the meson spectrum of an = 2 super Yang-Mills theory with fundamental matter from its dual string theory on AdS5 × S5 with a D7-brane probe [1]. For scalar and vector mesons with arbitrary

Mesons in gauge/gravity duals

Abstract. We review recent progress in studying mesons within gauge/gravity duality, in the context of adding flavour degrees of freedom to generalizations of the AdS/CFT correspondence. Our main

Universal holographic chiral dynamics in an external magnetic field

In this work we further extend the investigation of holographic gauge theories in external magnetic fields, continuing earlier work. We study the phenomenon of magnetic catalysis of mass generation

N = 1 Supersymmetric Renormalization Group Flows from IIB Supergravity

We consider N = 1 supersymmetric renormalization group flows of N = 4 Yang-Mills theory from the perspective of ten-dimensional IIB supergravity. We explicitly construct the complete ten-dimensional
