We analyze mesons at finite temperature in a chiral, confining string dual. The temperature dependence of low-spin as well as high-spin meson masses is shown to exhibit a pattern familiar from the lattice. Furthermore, we find the dissociation temperature of mesons as a function of their spin, showing that at a fixed quark mass, mesons with larger spins dissociate at lower temperatures. The Goldstone bosons associated with chiral symmetry breaking are shown to disappear above the chiral…

The spectrum of low spin mesons at finite temperature in holographic noncommutative QCD

We have constructed a noncommutative deformation of the holographic QCD (Sakai–Sugimoto) model and evaluated the mass spectrum of low spin vector mesons at finite temperature. The masses of light

Holographic quark gluon plasma with flavor

In this work I explore theoretical and phenomenological implications of chemical potentials and charge densities inside a strongly coupled thermal plasma, using the gauge/gravity correspondence.

High spin baryon in hot strongly coupled plasma

We consider a strings-junction holographic model of a probe baryon in the finite-temperature supersymmetric Yang-Mills dual of the AdS-Schwarzschild black hole background. In particular, we

Holographic nuclear physics

We analyze the phases of the Sakai-Sugimoto model at finite temperature and baryon chemical potential. Baryonic matter is represented either by 4-branes in the 8-branes or by strings stretched from

Holographic chiral phase transition with chemical potential

We discuss the Sakai-Sugimoto model at finite temperature and finite chemical potential. It is a holographic model of large Nc QCD with Nf massless quarks based on a D4/D8- brane system. The near

Holographic meson melting

The plasma phase at high temperatures of a strongly coupled gauge theory can be holographically modelled by an AdS black hole. Matter in the fundamental representation and in the quenched

The fast life of holographic mesons

Holographic techniques are used to study the dispersion relation of meson quasiparticles moving through a thermal plasma in super-Yang–Mills theory with Nc colours and coupled to Nf flavours of

Holographic description of the phase diagram of a chiral symmetry breaking gauge theory

The large N$ \mathcal{N} = 4 $ gauge theory with quenched $ \mathcal{N} = 2 $ quark matter in the presence of a magnetic field displays chiral symmetry breaking. We study the temperature and chemical

Properties of mesons and quarks under extreme conditions from Gauge-Gravity duality

This thesis is concerned with the properties of mesons and quarks which live in the strongly coupled plasma of certain gauge theories which are similar to QCD. To study these plasmas we exploit gauge

Quarkonium transport in thermal AdS/CFT

We consider a heavy meson moving slowly through high temperature non-Abelian plasmas. Using a simple dipole effective Lagrangian, we calculate the in-medium mass shift and the drag coefficient of the

Holographic Model for Mesons at Finite Temperature (熱場の量子論とその応用)

A holographic model of QCD at finite temperature is proposed and thermal properties for light mesons are examined in terms of this model. We find interesting temperature dependences of masses and

Regge trajectories for mesons in the holographic dual of large-N(c) QCD

We discuss Regge trajectories of dynamical mesons in large-Nc QCD, using the supergravity background describing Nc D4-branes compactified on a thermal circle. The flavor degrees of freedom arise from

Holographic decays of large-spin mesons

We study the decay process of large-spin mesons in the context of the gauge/string duality, using generic properties of confining backgrounds and systems with flavour branes. In the string picture,

Low energy hadron physics in holographic QCD

We present a holographic dual of four-dimensional, large N_c QCD with massless flavors. This model is constructed by placing N_f probe D8-branes into a D4 background, where supersymmetry is

Thermodynamics of lattice QCD with two light quark flavours on a 16^3 x 8 lattice II

We have extended our earlier simulations of the high temperature behaviour of lattice QCD with two light flavours of staggered quarks on a 16 3 × 8 lattice to lower quark mass ( m q = 0 . 00625). The

The Energy of a Moving Quark-Antiquark Pair in an N = 4 SYM Plasma

We make use of the AdS/CFT correspondence to determine the energy of an external quark-antiquark pair that moves through strongly-coupled thermal N = 4 super-Yang-Mills plasma. It is found that the

More on a holographic dual of QCD

We investigate the interactions among the pion, vector mesons and external gauge fields in the holographic dual of massless QCD proposed in a previous paper [T. Sakai and S. Sugi-moto, Prog. Theor.

Temperature dependence of hadron masses: I. Results from an extended linear sigma model

The temperature dependence of hadron masses has been calculated from the linear sigma -model, extended to include rho and a1 mesons. In the symmetric matter approximation, the baryon propagator has
