The anti-de Sitter (AdS) black hole plays an important role in the holographic principle. In this study, the upper bound in energy corresponding to the mass of the Schwarzschild black hole is modified to be that of the AdS black hole. Via the correspondence between the ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) cutoffs, the constant term in the energy density of the holographic dark energy (HDE) can be obtained from the negative cosmological constant from the black hole. Interestingly, the proposed dark…

Thermodynamics of interacting holographic dark energy with the apparent horizon as an IR cutoff

As soon as an interaction between holographic dark energy and dark matter is taken into account, the identification of an IR cutoff with the Hubble radius H−1, in a flat universe, can simultaneously

Revisit of the interaction between holographic dark energy and dark matter

In this paper we investigate the possible direct, non-gravitational interaction between holographic dark energy (HDE) and dark matter. Firstly, we start with two simple models with the interaction

Couplings between holographic dark energy and dark matter

We consider the interaction between dark matter and dark energy in the framework of holographic dark energy, and propose a natural and physically plausible form of interaction, in which the

Expanding plasmas from anti de Sitter black holes

We introduce a new foliation of AdS$$_5$$5 black holes such that the conformal boundary takes the form of a 4-dimensional FLRW spacetime with scale factor a(t). The foliation employs

Holographic dark energy in braneworld models with moving branes and the w = −1 crossing

We apply the bulk holographic dark energy in general 5D two-brane models. We extract the Friedmann equation on the physical brane and we show that in the general moving-brane case the effective 4D

The coincidence problem and interacting holographic dark energy

We study the dynamical behaviour of the interacting holographic dark energy model whose interaction term is Q = 3H(λdρd+λcρc), where ρd and ρc are the energy densities of dark energy and cold dark

A 5D holographic dark energy in DGP-BRANE cosmology

This paper is aimed to investigate 5D holographic dark energy (HDE) in DGP-Brane cosmology by employing a combination of Sne Ia, BAO and CMB observational data and constraining cosmological

Thermodynamic approach to holographic dark energy and the Rényi entropy

Using the first law of thermodynamics, we propose a relation between the system entropy (S) and its IR (L) and UV ($$\Lambda $$Λ) cutoffs. In addition, applying this relation to the apparent horizon

Different Faces of Generalized Holographic Dark Energy

It is shown that a wide class of dark energy (DE) models can be regarded as different candidates for the generalized HDE family, with respective cut-offs, and the equivalence of various DE models with the respective generalizedHDE models was further confirmed.
