SummaryThe localization of monoaminergic cells in the central nervous system of the crab Carcinus maenas was studied by the Falck-Hillarp fluorescence histochemical technique. Specific green fluorescence attributable to catecholamines was found in neurons and neuropile of eyestalk ganglia, brain, circumesophageal connectives and ganglia, and ventral ganglia. Specific yellow fluorescence attributable to 5-hydroxytryptamine was found in neurons of the brain and ventral ganglia.
