Sample complexity and dynamic range constitute enormous challenges in proteome analysis. The back-end technology in typical proteomics platforms, namely mass spectrometry (MS), can only tolerate a certain complexity, has a limited dynamic range per spectrum and is very sensitive towards ion suppression.
