A novel integrated process of coagulation and adsorption was proposed for the advanced treatment of biologically pretreated coking wastewater. Results of laboratory, pilot, and industrial-scale experiments indicated that this one-step novel process can remove biorefractory pollutants, achieving the maximum chemical oxygen demand (COD) and cyanide removals of around 85.3% and 99.4%, respectively.
