The LHC Run III will be a crucial run for the two LHC forward experiments: LHCf and FASER. In particular, Run III will be the last run where the LHCf detector can operate and, at the same time, the first run of the new FASER project. The LHCf experiment is dedicated to precise measurements of forward production, necessary to tune hadronic interaction models employed in cosmic-ray physics. In Run III, the experiment will accomplish two fundamental goals: operating in p-p collisions at √ s = 14… Expand

TECHNICAL PROPOSAL: FASER, THE FORWARD SEARCH EXPERIMENT AT THE LHC
TLDR
This document describes the technical details of the FASER detector components: the magnets, the tracker, the scintillator system, and the calorimeter, as well as the trigger and readout system. Expand
The LHCf detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider
LHCf is an experiment dedicated to the measurement of neutral particles emitted in the very forward region of LHC collisions. The physics goal is to provide data for calibrating the hadronExpand
FASER’s physics reach for long-lived particles
FASER,the ForwArd Search ExpeRiment,is a proposed experiment dedicated to searching for light, extremely weakly-interacting particles at the LHC. Such particles may be produced in the LHC'sExpand
Measurement of very forward neutron energy spectra for 7 TeV proton-proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider
Abstract The Large Hadron Collider forward (LHCf) experiment is designed to use the LHC to verify the hadronic-interaction models used in cosmic-ray physics. Forward baryon production is one of theExpand
Technical Proposal: FASERnu
FASERnu is a proposed small and inexpensive emulsion detector designed to detect collider neutrinos for the first time and study their properties. FASERnu will be located directly in front of FASER,Expand
Performance study for the photon measurements of the upgraded LHCf calorimeters with Gd2SiO5 (GSO) scintillators
The Large Hadron Collider forward (LHCf) experiment was motivated to understand the hadronic interaction processes relevant to cosmic-ray air shower development. We have developed radiation-hardExpand
Measurement of forward photon production cross-section in proton-proton collisions at √{ s } = 13TeV with the LHCf detector
In this paper, we report the production cross-section of forward photons in the pseudorapidity regions of η>10.94 and 8.99>η>8.81 , measured by the LHCf experiment with proton–proton collisions atExpand
Measurement of inclusive forward neutron production cross section in proton-proton collisions at s=13$$ \sqrt{s}=13 $$ TeV with the LHCf Arm2 detector
A bstractIn this paper, we report the measurement relative to the production of forward neutrons in proton-proton collisions at s=13$$ \sqrt{s}=13 $$ TeV obtained using the LHCf Arm2 detector at theExpand
Measurements of longitudinal and transverse momentum distributions for neutral pions in the forward-rapidity region with the LHCf detector
The differential cross sections for inclusive neutral pions as a function of transverse and longitudinal momentum in the very forward-rapidity region have been measured at the LHC with the LHCExpand
Measurement of forward neutral pion transverse momentum spectra for √ s = 7TeV proton-proton collisions at the LHC
The inclusive production rate of neutral pions in the rapidity range greater than $y=8.9$ has been measured by the Large Hadron Collider forward (LHCf) experiment during LHC $\sqrt{s}=7$\,TeVExpand
