Higher-rank discrete symmetries in the IBM. II Octahedral shapes: Dynamical symmetries
Abstract The symmetries of the sdg-IBM, the interacting boson model with s, d and g bosons, are studied as regards the occurrence of shapes with octahedral symmetry. It is shown that no sdg-IBMExpand
Symmetries and order in cluster nuclei
It is shown that the rotational band structure of the cluster states in 12C and 16O can be understood in terms of the underlying discrete symmetry that characterizes the geometrical configuration ofExpand
Geometrical symmetries of nuclear systems: D(3h) and T(d) symmetries in light nuclei
The role of discrete (or point-group) symmetries in alpha-cluster nuclei is discussed in the framework of the algebraic cluster model which describes the relative motion of the alpha-particles.Expand
SU(3) in Interacting Boson Models
In this chapter, various physically motivated extensions of the sd interacting boson model are described. These are, inclusion of g bosons giving sdgIBM describing hexadecupole properties, (p, f)Expand
Discrete symmetries in the cluster shell model
The role of discrete (or point-group) symmetries is discussed in the framework of the Cluster Shell Model which describes the splitting of single-particle levels in the deformed field of clusterExpand
Higher-rank discrete symmetries in the IBM. III Tetrahedral shapes
Abstract In the context of the sf-IBM, the interacting boson model with s and f bosons, the conditions are derived for a rotationally invariant and parity-conserving Hamiltonian with up to two-bodyExpand

Interacting boson model of collective nuclear states II. The rotational limit
Abstract We discuss the rotational limit of the interacting boson model and bring attention to the possible existence of an unbroken SU(3) symmetry. We derive, within the framework of this symmetry,Expand
Classical limit of the interacting boson Hamiltonian
We present a simple method for the derivation of the classical limit of the most general interacting boson model Hamiltonian as well as the Hamiltonians in the three limits of the interacting bosonExpand
Relationship between the Bohr collective Hamiltonian and the interacting-boson model
A Bohr Hamiltonian expressed in terms of the shape and rotational degrees of freedom of an ellipsoid is derived from an interacting-boson model Hamiltonian.
An intrinsic state for the interacting boson model and its relationship to the Bohr-Mottelson model
Abstract Within the interacting boson model, an intrinsic state is defined, in terms of quadrupole shape variables, from which all eigenstates of the interacting boson model can be projected byExpand
Interacting boson model of collective states I. The vibrational limit

Quantization of asymmetric shapes in nuclei.
TLDR
A description of asymmetric shapes in nuclei in terms of a bosonic U(16) group is proposed and some properties of rotation-vibration spectra in the SU(3) limit of the model are discussed. Expand
Classical Limit of the Interacting-Boson Model
A set of classical variables associated with the interacting-boson model is defined. It is shown that these variables can be put in one-to-one correspondence with Bohr's liquid-drop variables. TheExpand
COLLECTIVE NUCLEAR STATES AS REPRESENTATIONS OF A SU(6) GROUP

The Algebraic cluster model: Three body clusters
Abstract A new method is introduced to study three-body clusters. Triangular configurations with D 3 h point-group symmetry are analyzed. The spectrum, transition form factors, and B ( E λ) values ofExpand
Interacting boson model of collective nuclear states III. The transition from SU(5) to SU(3)
