Extending earlier work, we find the two-loop term in the beta-function for the scalar coupling ζ in a generalized Wilson loop operator of the N $$\mathcal{N}$$ = 4 SYM theory, working in the planar weak-coupling expansion. The beta-function for ζ has fixed points at ζ = ±1 and ζ = 0, corresponding respectively to the supersymmetric Wilson-Maldacena loop and to the standard Wilson loop without scalar coupling. As a consequence of our result for the beta-function, we obtain a prediction for the…

Abstract Building on our previous work arXiv:1712.06874 we consider one-parameter Polchinski–Sully generalization of the Wilson–Maldacena (WM) loops in planar N = 4 SYM theory. This breaks local

Abstract We study correlation functions of local operator insertions on the 1/2-BPS Wilson line in N = 4 super Yang–Mills theory. These correlation functions are constrained by the 1d superconformal

We study operator insertions into the 1/2 BPS Wilson loop in N = 4 SYM theory and determine their two-point coefficients, anomalous dimensions and structure constants. The calculation is done for t
Localization of Gauge Theory on a Four-Sphere and Supersymmetric Wilson Loops
We prove conjecture due to Erickson-Semenoff-Zarembo and Drukker-Gross which relates supersymmetric circular Wilson loop operators in the $${\mathcal N=4}$$ supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory with a

In this article we consider n gluon color ordered, planar amplitudes in = 4 super Yang Mills at strong 't Hooft coupling. These amplitudes are approximated by classical surfaces in AdS5 space. We

We propose that the expectation value of a circular BPS-Wilson loop in N=4 supersymmetric Yang--Mills can be calculated exactly, to all orders in a 1/N expansion and to all orders in g{sup 2}N. Using
Gauge fields as rings of glue
Abstract In this paper we take the view that gauge fields can be considered as chiral fields on a loop space, both in classical and in quantum theories. As a result, gauge interactions are
Quantum contour field equations
Abstract The renormalization procedure for fields on a contour is considered. It is shown that in a quantum string-like equation for a non-abelian contour field the mass term has the correct sign.

The phase factor P exp(e∳C Aμ d xμ) = ψ(C) for Yang-Mills theory is studied. The renormalizability of this phase factor is proved.
