Higher dimensional and supersymmetric extensions of loop quantum gravity

  title={Higher dimensional and supersymmetric extensions of loop quantum gravity},
  author={Andreas Thurn},
In this work, we extend loop quantum gravity (LQG) both, to higher dimensions and supersymmetry (i.e. supergravity theories), thus overcoming the current limitation to 3+1 dimensions with standard model matter fields. On the one hand, this gives a proof of principle that LQG is in accordance with these two theoretical concepts, and on the other hand hopefully allows contact with superstring/M theory, which necessarily is supersymmetric and formulated in ten or eleven spacetime dimensions…

Compactified Spacelike Extra Dimension & Brane-Higgs Field
In the paradigm with a small warped Spacelike Extra Dimensions (SED), the Higgs field is in general localized at a boundary of the SED (TeV-brane) where the gravity scale is redshifted to the TeV by
Large star/rose extra dimension with small leaves/petals
In this paper, we propose to compactify a single Large Extra Dimension (LED) on a star/rose graph with a large number of identical leaves/petals. The 5D Planck scale can be chosen to be [Formula: see

New variables for classical and quantum (super)-gravity in all dimensions
Supergravity was originally introduced in the hope of finding a theory of gravity without the shortcoming of perturbative non-renormalisability. Although this goal does not seem to have been reached

Towards Loop Quantum Supergravity (LQSG) II. p-Form Sector
In our companion paper, we focused on the quantization of the Rarita–Schwinger sector of supergravity theories in various dimensions by using an extension of loop quantum gravity to all spacetime
Supergravities in Diverse Dimensions
Supergravity was initially envisaged to be an elementary field theory which will be free of UV divergences and thus unite all the forces with the gravity. Nowadays it’s viewed as an effective theory
Three-dimensional Quantum Supergravity and Supersymmetric Spin Foam Models
We show how super BF theory in any dimension can be quantized as a spin foam model, generalizing the situation for ordinary BF theory. This is a first step toward quantizing supergravity theories. We
The Large-N Limit of Superconformal Field Theories and Supergravity
We show that the large-N limits of certainconformal field theories in various dimensions includein their Hilbert space a sector describing supergravityon the product of anti-de Sitter spacetimes,
Towards Loop Quantum Supergravity (LQSG) I. Rarita-Schwinger Sector
In our companion papers, we managed to derive a connection formulation of Lorentzian general relativity in D + 1 dimensions with compact gauge group SO(D + 1) such that the connection is
New Variables for Classical and Quantum Gravity in all Dimensions V. Isolated Horizon Boundary Degrees of Freedom
In this paper, we generalise the treatment of isolated horizons in loop quantum gravity, resulting in a Chern-Simons theory on the boundary in the four-dimensional case, to non-distorted isolated
Canonical Quantum Supergravity in Three Dimensions
We discuss the canonical treatment and quantization of matter coupled supergravity in three dimensions, with special emphasis on N = 2 supergravity. We then analyze the quantum constraint algebra;
The cubic matrix model and a duality between strings and loops
We find evidence for a duality between the standard matrix formulations of M theory and a background independent theory which extends loop quantum gravity by replacing SU(2) with a supersymmetric and
