The purpose of this discussion is to familiarize readers with an overview of high-speed imaging technology as a means of analyzing objects in motion that occur too fast for the eye to see or conventional photography or video to capture. This information is intended to provide a brief historical narrative from the inception of high-speed imaging in the USA and the acceptance of digital video technology to augment or replace high-speed motion picture cameras.
