X-ray diffraction with synchrotron radiation has been used for the first time to study chemical interaction in the FeO–ZnO system at 4.8 GPa and temperatures up to 1300 K. Above 750 K, the chemical reaction between FeO and ZnO has been observed to result in the formation of rock salt (rs) Fe1−x Zn x O solid solutions (0.3≤x≤0.85). The lattice parameters of these solid solutions have been measured in situ as a function of temperature under pressure, and corresponding thermal expansion…
High-pressure synthesis of MnO–ZnO solid solutions with rock salt structure: in situ X-ray diffraction studies
X-ray diffraction with synchrotron radiation has been used for the first time to study chemical interaction in the MnO–ZnO system at 4.8 GPa and temperatures up to 1600 K. Above 750 K, the chemical
High pressure synthesis of LiMeO2–ZnO (Me=Fe 3+, Ti3+) solid solutions with a rock salt structure
Metastable LiMeO2–ZnO (Me=Fe 3+, Ti3+) solid solutions with a rock salt crystal structure have been synthesized by the solid-state reaction of ZnO with LiMeO2 complex oxides at 7.7 GPa and 1350–1450

Synthesis of rock-salt MeO–ZnO solid solutions (Me=Ni 2+, Co2+, Fe2+, Mn2+) at high pressure and high temperature
A series of metastable Me1−x Zn x O solid solutions (Me = Ni2+, Co2+, Fe2+, Mn2+) with the rock-salt (rs) crystal structure have been synthesized from binary oxides by quenching at 7.7 GPa and
New phase boundary and high-pressure thermoelasticity of ZnO
The phase transition of zinc oxide from B4 (hexagonal wurtzite structure) to B1 (cubic rocksalt structure) has been studied by energy-dispersive powder diffraction technique up to 11 GPa and 1273 K.
The solubility of transition metal oxides in zinc oxide and the reflectance spectra of Mn2+ and Fe2+ in tetrahedral fields
Abstract The solubilities of MnO, FeO, CoO and NiO in ZnO have been determined over the temperature range of 500–800°C by hydrothermal techniques. The solubilities are 25, 7, 6·5 and 0·9 mole per
Experimental study of phase equilibria and thermodynamic optimization of the Fe-Zn-O system
The Fe-Zn-O phase diagram in air was studied over the temperature range from 900 °C to 1500 °C. The compositions of the phases in quenched samples were obtained by electron probe X-ray microanalysis
Effects of defect and pressure on the thermal expansivity of FexO
Pressure–volume–temperature measurements have been carried out using synchrotron X-ray diffraction for wüstite at static pressures of 1.9, 2.6, and 5.4 GPa. Our results revealed that the composition
Phase transition of ZnO under high pressure and temperature
Pressure induced B4 (wurtzite) -B1(rocksalt) transition of ZnO was investigated by energy dispersive X-ray diffraction method up to 12GPa and 1000°C. The phase boundary between the B4 and B1 phases

Thermal expansion of single-crystal manganosite
Thermal expansion of manganosite MnO at temperatures between 20°C and 850°C has been carefully determined by a dilatometric technique. The theory of thermal expansion by Gruneisen is improved and the
