Polycarbonate from Bisphenol-A has been studied as a dosimeter to measure doses of gamma-rays. Ultraviolet spectral changes of irradiated polycarbonate in chloroform solution were recorded. The optical density of irradiated polycarbonate changes linearly corresponding to the increase in dose up to 1230 kGy. The changes in molecular weight of irradiated samples were determined by the viscometry method using an Ostwald viscometer and G-breakage values were also estimated.
