  • A high-frequency plantlet regeneration protocol was developed for oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq. var tenera) through secondary somatic embryogenesis. Secondary embryos formed from the basal end the primary haustorium embryos (PHE) which were originally derived from coleoptile tissues of germinating PHE on MS medium supplemented with 0.1 mg/l dicamba, 200 mg/l ascorbic acid in the presence of 0.2 M sorbitol.
