Inertial measurement units (IMUs) are gaining popularity in several application fields, such as navigation, body motion monitoring and indoors positioning. Microelectromechanical (MEMS) accelerometers and gyroscopes are used for this purpose since they offer a reasonable price-performance trade-off.
