Ro52 is an E3 ubiquitin ligase with a recently identified regulatory role in inflammation. The protein is targeted by autoantibodies in rheumatic diseases, and Ro52 autoantibodies are specifically associated with cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE) and photosensitivity.
