ShuffleNet and de Bruijn networks have been proposed as multihop lightwave networks based on wavelength division multiplexing (WDM). With multihop lightwave networks, few fixed wavelength transmitters receivers are assigned to each user, eliminating the need for wavelength agility and pretransmission coordination.
