In this study, the endocellulase gene from Monochamus saltuarius (MsGHF5) was transformed into Escherichia coli (RosettaBlue(DE3)pLysS strain), and induced by IPTG. The molecular weight of recombinant MsGHF5 (rMsGHF5) was 78 kDa and was expressed as a fusion protein with maltose binding protein in pMAL‐c2 expression vector. Native‐PAGE was conducted with 0.1% carboxymethyl cellulose as a substrate, and the zymogenic bands were observed. The Michaelis constant and maximum velocity of rMsGHF5…

Heterologous expression and enzymatic characterization of β-glucosidase from the drywood-eating termite, Neotermes koshunensis

A β-glucosidase cDNA from the termite, Neotermes koshunensis, was successfully overexpressed in Escherichia coli, and the product was purified to homogeneity by affinity purification against

Characterization of a metagenome-derived halotolerant cellulase.

Purification, characterization, cDNA cloning and nucleotide sequencing of a cellulase from the yellow-spotted longicorn beetle, Psacothea hilaris.

TLC analysis showed that the cellulase produces cellotriose and cellobiose from insoluble cello-oligosaccharides, which is the first report of a family 5 cellulase from arthropods.
