Hereditary gingival fibromatosis (HGF) is a rare condition that can occur as an isolated disease, chromosomal abnormality, or as part of a number of syndromes. The gingival enlargement in HGF can be so severe that it can cover the crowns of teeth completely, causing severe functional derangement and facial disfigurement.
