Trapa acornis (TA) pulp is one of the most popular vegetables and fruits with unique taste in China. Our previous study showed that T. acornis shell (TAS) had strong antioxidant activity in vitro. Polyphenols and flavonoids have contributed to antioxidant activity; and hepatoprotective activity also has relationship with antioxidant activity. Nevertheless, there have been no reports on total phenolic content (TPC) and total flavonoid content (TFC) of extracts of TAS and hepatoprotective…

Purpose: The purpose of the study is to evaluate invitro antiinflammatory, antimicrobial and antioxidant activity of leaves of Trapa natans (Linn.). Methods: Different extracts were prepared i.e.,

Hepatoprotective Evaluation of Trapa natans against Drug-induced Hepatotoxicity of Antitubercular Agents in Rats

Findings powerfully support that the protective effect of T. natans fruit peel extract against liver injury which may be attributed to its hepatoprotective activity due to normalizes the altered liver marker enzymes and antioxidant defense status and thereby contributed to its antihepatotoxic potential.

Pharmacognostical evaluation and phytochemical studies on Ayurvedic nutritional fruits of Trapa natans L.

The present work highlights the Phytochemical Evaluation, microscopic studies, nutritional aspects and Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) of the fruits of T. natans L. for medicinal properties and high nutritive value useful in the treatment of stomach, liver, kidney, spleen and genitourinary disorders.

Study on the Evaluation of (Heavy) Metals in Water and Sediment of Skadar Lake (Montenegro), with BCF Assessment and Translocation Ability (TA) by Trapa natans and a Review of SDGs

Skadar Lake is a crypto-depression, a shallow lake, near to the Adriatic coast; the largest in the Balkan Peninsula and in southeastern Europe. The Lake is a very complex aquatic ecosystem in which

Oral administration of Trapa taiwanensis Nakai fruit skin extracts conferring hepatoprotection from CCl4-caused injury.

HWETT was subjected to assays of α,α-diphenyl-β-picrylhydrazyl scavenging activity, reducing power, Trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity, and antioxidative potency, and all determinations showed HWETT to be a potent antioxidant.

Hepatoprotective effects of Coptidis rhizoma aqueous extract on carbon tetrachloride-induced acute liver hepatotoxicity in rats.

Hepatoprotective activity of Stereospermum suaveolens against CCl4-induced liver damage in albino rats

It was concluded that methanol stem bark extract of Stereospermum suaveolens showed effective hepatoprotective activity.

Hepatoprotective effect of Mitragyna rotundifolia Kuntze on CCl 4 -induced acute liver injury in mice

Results indicated that Mitragyna rotundifolia Kuntze has hepatoprotective effect against CCl4-induced oxidative damage in mice, and the hepatoprotsective effect may be correlated with its antioxidant effects.

Antioxidant activities, a-glucosidase inhibitory effect in vitro and antihyperglycemic of Trapa acornis shell in alloxan-induced diabetic rats

TASEA and TASBU had significant antihyperglycemic effects in alloxan-induced diabetic rats and could significantly increase the level of superoxide dismutase (SOD) in serum.

Effect of HD‐03, a herbal formulation, on the antioxidant defence system in rats

The increase in the hepatic glycogen levels in HD‐03 pretreated rats, indicates its preventive effect on subcellular injury caused by CCl4, which leads to glycogenolysis, as a result of disturbance in the intracellular Ca+2 pool.

Antioxidant phenolic compounds and flavonoids of Mitragyna rotundifolia (Roxb.) Kuntze in vitro

Different solvent extracts of leaves and bark of Mitragyna rotundifolia (Roxb.) Kuntze were evaluated by DPPH, ABTS, and FRAP assays, respectively, for antioxidant properties. Total phenolic and
