AIMS To evaluate the role of activated hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) in hepatic veno-occlusive disease (VOD) after bone marrow transcription (BMT), we studied the distribution and area of activated HSCs by immunohistochemistry for alpha-smooth muscle actin (SMA).
