Erythrocyte lysis and fish mortality assays, in combination with high performance liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS) analysis, were investigated for bioassay-guided fractionation of cultured golden alga (Prymnesium parvum).
