Abstract

We report the clinical observation of an 8-year-old girl, admitted for a supermedial swelling of the eyelid associated with acute exophthalmia. The anatomical-pathological examination and the X-ray of the orbit provided the diagnosis of hemolymphangioma in a country where investigative resources are very limited (tomodensitometry, magnetic resonance imaging, and color Doppler). Most authors emphasize the advantages of MRI, which can show whether the ocular muscles in contact with the tumor are intact, rule out other causes of orbital tumors responsible for exophthalmia, and can help adjust treatment.
