The conventional description of heavy-flavour hadron production in pp collisions is based on a factorisation approach, assuming universal fragmentation functions among collision systems. Recent results on heavy-flavour baryon measurements from the LHC experiments show tensions with model calculations based on this approach and employing fragmentation functions constrained from e+e− and e−p collision experiments. In this contribution, the most recent results from ALICE, ATLAS, CMS and LHCb… Expand

Theoretical predictions for charm and bottom production at the LHC
A bstractWe present predictions for a variety of single-inclusive observables that stem from the production of charm and bottom quark pairs at the 7 TeV LHC. They are obtained within the FONLLExpand
Charm-baryon production in proton-proton collisions
Recent measurements of charm-baryon production in proton-proton collisions at the LHC have found a surprisingly large yield relative to those of $D$-mesons. We propose that this observation can beExpand
Triple Parton Scatterings in High-Energy Proton-Proton Collisions.
A generic expression to compute triple parton scattering cross sections in high-energy proton-proton (pp) collisions is presented as a function of the corresponding single parton cross sections andExpand
String formation beyond leading colour
A bstractWe present a new model for the hadronisation of multi-parton systems, in which colour correlations beyond leading NC are allowed to influence the formation of confining potentials (strings).Expand
Charm hadrons in pp collisions at LHC energy within a coalescence plus fragmentation approach
The recent experimental measurements on pp collisions at √ s = 5.02TeV have shown a very large abundance of heavy baryon production corresponding to a ratio of Λc/D 0 ∼ 0.6, about one order ofExpand
