We present a new subcortical structure shape modeling framework using heat kernel smoothing constructed with the LaplaceBeltrami eigenfunctions. The cotan discretization is used to numerically obtain the eigenfunctions of the Laplace-Beltrami operator along the surface of subcortical structures of the brain.
