BACKGROUND Patients with failing Fontan circulation are at high risk for complications after heart transplantation (HTx) because of multiple prior operations, elevated panel reactive antibody, hepatic dysfunction, coagulopathy, protein-losing enteropathy (PLE), and poor nutrition.
