This paper investigates how health-seeking behavior of mothers is affecting infant and child mortality in Bangladesh. Data were obtained from the 1993-94 Demographic and Health Survey of the country which interviewed a total of 9640 ever-married women from selected households. It was noted in the survey that despite availability of health centers at lowest administrative level the utilization of health center is poor with only 27.4% of the mothers utilizing antenatal care services.
