Osteoporotic fractures are associated with significant morbidity and mortality. In addition, the declines in physical function and the changes in appearance due to fractures contribute to the severe reduction in patients' quality of life (HRQOL). It has been demonstrated that patients suffering subclinical fractures experience a reduction in their HRQOL.
