Conventional endoscopic surgery has some drawbacks that can be addressed by using robots. The robotic systems used for surgery are still in their infancy. A major deficiency is the lack of haptic feedback to the surgeon. In this paper, the benefits of haptic feedback in robot‐assisted surgery are discussed. A novel robotic end‐effector is then described that meets the requirements of endoscopic surgery and is sensorized for force/ torque feedback. The endoscopic end‐effector is capable of non…
Haptics-Enabled Teleoperation for Robotics-Assisted Minimally Invasive Surgery
TLDR
A haptics-enabled dual-arm (two masters two slaves) robotic MIS testbed is designed to investigate and validate various single-arm as well as dual- arm teleoperation scenarios and addresses several key issues associated with the incorporation of haptic feedback in a master-slave (teleoperated) robotic environment for minimally invasive surgery (MIS).

This paper shared the solutions and concerns in designing a haptic enabled robotic system specifically for NOTES, taking the MASTER (Master And Slave Transluminal Endoscopic Robot) system as an example.
An Implementation of Sensor-Based Force Feedback in a Compact Laparoscopic Surgery Robot
TLDR
A force-feedback structure in a compact laparoscopic surgery robot showed the system model could be identified with significant fidelity and the force feedback at the master robot was feasible, but the qualitative human assessment of the fed-back force showed only limited level of object discrimination ability.

A haptic interface for computer-integrated endoscopic surgery and training
TLDR
The design of a user interface that is capable of providing force feedback in all the degrees of freedom available during endoscopic surgery is discussed, using the Jacobian matrix of the haptic interface and its singular values.
Prevailing Trends in Haptic Feedback Simulation for Minimally Invasive Surgery
TLDR
Force feedback is the best method for tissue identification in minimally invasive surgery and haptic feedback provides the greatest benefit to surgical novices in the early stages of their training.

The design, analysis, practicality, and effectiveness of various force estimation and display methods are examined and the experience in adding force feedback to an experimental version of the da Vinci surgical system is described.
High-Level Control System for Remote Controlled Surgical Robots: Haptic Guidance of Surgical Robot
TLDR
The work has shown the possibilities of using haptic guidance to improve accuracy and precision in surgical procedures, but among others, hardware limitations give room for several improvements in order to develop a teleoperated system that works.
