Convolution and deconvolution are the classical in-vitro-in-vivo correlation tools to describe the relationship between input and weighting/response in a linear system, where input represents the drug release in vitro, weighting/response any body response in vivo. While functional treatment, e.g. in terms of polyexponential or Weibull distribution, is more appropriate for general survey or prediction, numerical algorithms are useful for treating actual experimental data.
