We report three manifestly Lorentz-invariant Hamiltonian formulations of minimally and nonminimally coupled fermion fields to the Holst action. These formulations are achieved by making a suitable parametrization of both the tetrad and the Lorentz connection, which allows us to integrate out some auxiliary fields without spoiling the local Lorentz symmetry. They have the peculiarity that their noncanonical symplectic structures as well as the phase-space variables for the gravitational sector… Expand

New variables for gravity: Inclusion of matter.
TLDR
The Lagrangian and Hamiltonian formulations of general relativity in terms of soldering forms and self-dual connections are extended to include matter sources and the cosmological constant and have several potential applications especially to the nonperturbative canonical quantization program. Kinematical Hilbert Spaces for Fermionic and Higgs Quantum Field Theories
We extend the recently developed kinematical framework for diffeomorphism-invariant theories of connections for compact gauge groups to the case of a diffeomorphism-invariant quantum field theoryExpand
Canonical Variables for the Interacting Gravitational and Dirac Fields
The problem of reducing the Lagrangian for the interacting gravitational and Dirac fields to canonical form is discussed, using the vierbein formalism. The arbitrary gauge variables corresponding toExpand
Lorentz Invariance and the Gravitational Field

Manifestly Lorentz-covariant variables for the phase space of general relativity
We present a manifestly Lorentz-covariant description of the phase space of general relativity with the Immirzi parameter. This formulation emerges after solving the second-class constraints arisingExpand

Quantum gravity, torsion, parity violation, and all that
We discuss the issue of parity violation in quantum gravity. In particular, we study the coupling of fermionic degrees of freedom in the presence of torsion and the physical meaning of the ImmirziExpand
Canonical analysis of Holst action without second-class constraints
We perform the canonical analysis of the Holst action for general relativity with a cosmological constant without introducing second-class constraints. Our approach consists in identifying theExpand
