A Gram-negative, heterotrophic, aerobic, non-endospore-forming, peritrichously flagellated and motile bacterial strain, designated BH1(T), was isolated from samples of rusticles, which are formed in part by a consortium of micro-organisms, collected from the RMS Titanic wreck site. The strain grew optimally at 30-37°C, pH 7.0-7.5 and in the presence of 2-8 % (w/v) NaCl. We carried out a polyphasic taxonomic study in order to characterize the strain in detail. Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S…

TLDR
On the basis of phenotypic and genotypic characteristics, and also genomic and phylogenetic evidence, it was concluded that strain TYRC17(T) represented a novel species of the genus Halomonas.
Halomonas nigrificans sp. nov., isolated from cheese.
TLDR
The strain represents a new species, for which the name Halomonas nigrificans sp.
Halomonas aidingensis sp. nov., a moderately halophilic bacterium isolated from Aiding salt lake in Xinjiang, China
TLDR
Two Gram-negative moderately halophilic bacterial strains, designated Ad-1T and C-12, were isolated from Aiding salt lake of Xinjiang in China and are considered to be a novel species of the genus Halomonas, for which the nameHalomonas aidingensis sp.
Halomonas salicampi sp. nov., a halotolerant and alkalitolerant bacterium isolated from a saltern soil.
TLDR
A Gram-stain-negative, halotolerant and alkalitolerant bacterium, isolated from saltern soil in Gomso, Korea, represents a novel species of the genus Halomonas, for which the nameHalomonas salicampi sp.
Halomonas sedimenti sp. nov., a Halotolerant Bacterium Isolated from Deep-Sea Sediment of the Southwest Indian Ocean
TLDR
The results of phylogenetic analysis, phenotypic analysis and chemotaxonomic studies showed that strain QX-2 T represents a novel species within the genus Halomonas, for which the nameHalomonas sedimenti sp.
Halomonas vilamensis sp. nov., isolated from high-altitude Andean lakes.
TLDR
Physiological and biochemical tests allowed phenotypic differentiation of strain SV325(T) from closely related species with validly published names and propose a novel species, Halomonas vilamensis sp.
Taxonomic characterization and metabolic analysis of the Halomonas sp. KM-1, a highly bioplastic poly(3-hydroxybutyrate)-producing bacterium.
TLDR
Of the 16 Halomonas strains examined in this study, the strain KM-1 exhibited the highest production of PHB and was subjected to a polyphasic taxonomic study, suggesting highly efficient conversion of these precursors to PHB.
Complete Genome Sequence of Halomonas meridiana Strain Slthf1, Isolated from a Deep-Sea Thermal Vent
TLDR
The complete genome sequence of Halomonas meridiana strain Slthf1 (ATCC BAA-801) is reported, which has a 3.6-Mbp genome, containing 3,400 protein-coding sequences.
Complete genome sequence of Halomonas sp. R5-57
The marine Arctic isolate Halomonas sp. R5-57 was sequenced as part of a bioprospecting project which aims to discover novel enzymes and organisms from low-temperature environments, with potential
Diversity of retrievable heterotrophic bacteria in Kongsfjorden, an Arctic fjord
TLDR
The composition and function of heterotrophic bacterial community was fundamentally different in different months, which could be linked to the changes in the water masses and/or phytoplankton bloom dynamics occurring in Arctic summer.

Halomonas ilicicola sp. nov., a moderately halophilic bacterium isolated from a saltern.
TLDR
It is suggested that strain SP8(T), isolated from a salty water sample from the solar salterns of Santa Pola, represents a novel species for which the name Halomonas ilicicola sp.
Halomonas fontilapidosi sp. nov., a moderately halophilic, denitrifying bacterium.
TLDR
A polyphasic taxonomic study of strain 5CR(T), isolated from Fuente de Piedra, Málaga, southern Spain, indicates that it belongs to the genus Halomonas in the class Gammaproteobacteria, and the proposed name for the novel species isHalomonas fontilapidosi sp.
Aidingimonas halophila gen. nov., sp. nov., a moderately halophilic bacterium isolated from a salt lake.
TLDR
It was concluded that the two strains isolated from a salt lake in Xinjiang province should be classified as representatives of a novel species in a new genus, for which name Aidingimonas halophila gen. nov. is proposed.
Deleya halophila, a New Species of Moderately Halophilic Bacteria
TLDR
The distinguishing features of the new species are its salt requirement, biochemical features, and nutritional versatility.
Halomonas zhanjiangensis sp. nov., a halophilic bacterium isolated from a sea urchin.
TLDR
The combination of phylogenetic analysis, DNA-DNA relatedness, phenotypic characteristics and chemotaxonomic data supported the view that strain JSM 078169(T) represents a novel species of the genus Halomonas, for which the nameHalomonas zhanjiangensis sp.
Halovibrio variabilis gen. nov. sp. nov., Pseudomonas halophila sp. nov. and a New Halophilic Aerobic Coccoid Eubacterium from Great Salt Lake, Utah, USA
Summary The diversity of aerobic bacteria in hypersaline surface water of the North Arm of Great Salt Lake, USA, is not restricted to extreme halophiles, since also various types of moderate
Halomonas stevensii sp. nov., Halomonas hamiltonii sp. nov. and Halomonas johnsoniae sp. nov., isolated from a renal care centre.
TLDR
Combined phenotypic and DNA-DNA hybridization data support the conclusion that the 14 Halomonas strains isolated from the blood of two patients and from dialysis machines of a renal care centre represent three novel species of the genusHalomonas.
The Family Halomonadaceae
TLDR
The Halomonadaceae (Franzmann et al., 1988) was suggested because Sab values obtained from 16S rRNA catalogs show that Halomonas and Deleya are phylogenetically isolated from all other major groups of the gamma subdivision of the Proteobacteria.
Halomonas boliviensis sp. nov., an alkalitolerant, moderate halophile isolated from soil around a Bolivian hypersaline lake.
TLDR
Two moderately halophilic, psychrophilic, alkalitolerant bacteria, LC1(T) and LC2, both of which were isolated from a soil sample around the lake Laguna Colorada, located at 4300 m above sea level in the south-west region of Bolivia, are proposed.
