Abstract Juvenile hormone esterase (JHE) activity and α-naphtyl acetate esterase (NacE) activity were studied in haemolymph of Diploptera punctata . The apparent K m value for JHE activity was 6.79 μM. Enzymatic activity of JHE and NAcE in females' haemolymph were measured during the first reproductive cycle. NAcE activity increased from emergence to oviposition and remained high during pregnancy. JHE activity was high at adult emergence and declined during the first three days.
