The effect of Aspergillus niger-fermented Terminalia catappa seed meal-based diet on the haematological parameters of broiler chicks was studied. T. catappa seed meal was inoculated with A. niger spore suspension and incubated at room temperature for 3 weeks. Forty-five, day-old broiler chicks with an initial average weight of 30.25 ± 2.40 g were divided into three groups of fifteen animals each. The first group was placed on soybean-based (control) diet; the second group on raw (unfermented) T…

A study of Aspergillus niger- hydrolyzed cassava peel meal as a carbohydrate source on the histology of broiler chickens

It is concluded that birds can be fed with maize replaced with up to 50% hydrolyzed cassava peel in chicken feeds without serious deleterious effects and that the wastes have useful products in animal nutrition.

Studies on Haematology and Serum Biochemistry of Broiler Chickens Finished on an Unprocessed and Processed Velvet Bean (Mucuna Pruriens (L.)) as Dietary Protein Sources

Boiling mucuna seed meal with 5.00 % level of inclusion can be used without any deleterious effect on haematological and serum biochemical assay parameters of broiler chickens.

Growth Performance and Nutrient Re tention of Broiler Chickens Fed Aspergillus niger Hydrolysed Cassava Peel Based Diet

It was concluded that maize can be replaced with up to 50% hydrolyzed cassava peels in chicken feed without deleterious effects.

Haematology and Serum Chemistry of Broiler Starter fed Graded Levels of Rumen Digesta Based Diets with or without Enzyme Supplementation

A feeding trial which lasted for five weeks was conducted at the poultry unit, Teaching and Research Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Abuja to investigate the effect of replacing maize

Growth Performance and Nutrient Retention of Broiler Chickens Fed Aspergillus niger Hydrolysed Cassava Peel Based Diet

The effect of Aspergillus niger hydrolysis on cassava peel meal based diet on the growth performance and nutrient retention of broiler chickens was studied. Delignified cassava peel was used as the

Effect of tigernut based diets on haematology and serum biochemistry of broiler finisher

This study showed that tigernut meal cannot totally replace maize in broiler finisher diets but could be tolerated up to 50% dietary inclusion without compromising the physiological status of the birds.

Evaluating the Potentials of Carica papaya seed as phytobiotic to improve feed efficiency, growth performance and serum biochemical prameters in broiler chickens

Sixty day old chickens were randomly distributed into three treatments and fed diets mixed with 0, 0.5 and 1% papaya seed powder for the six weeks’ starter period. Feed consumption and growth
