HUHS1015 induces necroptosis and caspase-independent apoptosis of MKN28 human gastric cancer cells in association with AMID accumulation in the nucleus.
@article{Kaku2015HUHS1015IN, title={HUHS1015 induces necroptosis and caspase-independent apoptosis of MKN28 human gastric cancer cells in association with AMID accumulation in the nucleus.}, author={Yoshiko Kaku and Ayako Tsuchiya and Takeshi Kanno and Tomoyuki Nishizaki}, journal={Anti-cancer agents in medicinal chemistry}, year={2015}, volume={15 2}, pages={ 242-7 } }
The newly synthesized naftopidil analogue HUHS1015 reduced viability of MKN28 and MKN45 human gastric cancer cells in a concentration (0.3-100 μM)-dependent manner, with the potential greater than that for naftopidil. In the cell cycle analysis, HUHS1015 significantly increased the proportion at the subG1 phase of cell cycling in MKN28 cells. In the flow cytometry using propidium iodide (PI) and annexin V, HUHS1015 significantly increased the populations of PI-positive/annexin V-negative and PI…

Knockdown of Aurora A suppresses cell proliferation of human gastric cancer cells by inhibiting cell autophagy
- Biology, Medicine
- 2017
It is demonstrated that knockdown Aurora A inhibited the cell proliferation of human gastric cancers, which was partly due to cell autophagy increased in Aurora A siRNA transfected gastric cancer cells.
Monitoring the progression of cell death and the disassembly of dying cells by flow cytometry
- BiologyNature Protocols

This protocol uses a combination of A5 and TO-PRO-3 (a commercially available nucleic acid–binding dye that stains early apoptotic and necrotic cells differentially), and a logical seven-stage analytical approach to distinguish six types of particles in a sample, including apoptotic bodies and cells at three different stages of cell death.
The role of alpha 1-adrenoceptor antagonists in the treatment of prostate and other cancers
- Biology

In vivo data was consistent with in vitro findings as the quinazoline based α-antagonists prevented angiogenesis and decreased tumour mass in mice models of PCa, and retrospective studies show a decreased incidence ofPCa in males exposed to α-Antagonists.

A review of known as well as putative mechanisms underlying the crosstalk between radiotherapy and ferroptosis, and the interactions between ferroPTosis and other forms of regulated cell death induced by radiotherapy, will provide important frameworks for future investigations of ferroaptosis in cancer therapy.
